Francisco Oliveros, 51, was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a report of an assault around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 between two people at a home on Round Hill Road, said Greenwich PD Lt. David Nemecek.

When police arrived the victim, Fred Barakat, told officers that he was on the property to pick up the garbage dumpsters and that an argument had occurred with the property's gardener, Oliveros, Nemecek said.

According to police, Olivero was upset with a vehicle blocking the dumpsters and hit Barakat three times on his left thigh and once in the back of the neck, police said.

Olivero told officers that Barakat had verbally abused him and he struck him in order to defend himself.

Police charged Olivero due to the physical attack. He was released on a misdemeanor summons and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11.
